Eligibility Criteria
1. Nationality & Marital Status
Candidates must be unmarried and must be either a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal, or a person of Indian origin who migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India.
2. Educational Qualification
- Degree Requirement: Graduation degree from a recognized university or equivalent with an aggregate of minimum 50% marks taking into account marks of all years.
- Final Year Students: Candidates in their final year of degree courses are also eligible to apply, provided they have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the first two/three years of their degree course and can produce proof of passing before the commencement of training.
3. NCC Experience Requirements (For NCC Candidates)
- Should have served for a minimum of two academic years in the Senior Division/Wing of NCC.
- Must have obtained a minimum of ‘B’ Grade in the NCC ‘C’ Certificate Exam.
Note: The NCC ‘C’ Certificate requirement is not mandatory for Wards of Battle Casualties of Indian Army Personnel.
Selection Procedure
The selection process for the NCC Special Entry Scheme does not involve a written entrance examination. The process comprises the following steps:
- Shortlisting of Applications: Shortlisting is based on the aggregate percentage of marks obtained in the degree qualification.
- SSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates undergo the 5-day Service Selection Board (SSB) interview process at designated Selection Centres (Allahabad, Bhopal, Bengaluru, or Jalandhar).
- Medical Examination: Candidates who successfully clear the SSB interview are recommended for a comprehensive medical test.
- Final Merit List: A merit list is prepared strictly based on the marks secured in the SSB Interview. Medical fitness is a prerequisite for final selection.
