Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification

• Minimum: Candidate must have passed 10th standard (SSLC/Matriculation) or its equivalent.
• Maximum Limit: Candidates who have passed Graduation or hold higher qualifications are not eligible to apply.
• Language Proficiency: Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing the local language (Tamil).

2. Military & Medical Standards

• Military Character must be certified as “EXEMPLARY” at the time of discharge.
• Medical Fitness standard must be SHAPE-1 or AYE upon discharge.

3. Age Limit (As of 01.08.2026)

• Base Age Range: Minimum 18 years to Maximum 26 years.
• General Candidates: Upper limit is 26 years + Defence Service Period + 3 years (Max cap: 45 years).
• OBC Candidates: Upper limit is 29 years + Defence Service Period + 3 years (Max cap: 45 years).
• SC/ST Candidates: Upper limit is 31 years + Defence Service Period + 3 years (Max cap: 45 years).
• Agniveer Candidates: 21 years + Agniveer Service Period + 3 years.

Salary & Pay Scale

Selected candidates will receive a basic pay scale structured as follows:

Pay Scale: ₹19,500 – 665/4 – 22,160 – 830/5 – 26,310 – 990/4 – 30,270 – 1,170/3 – 33,780 – 1,345/3 – 37,815.

• Initial basic pay will be fixed considering defence service length as per bank norms.
• Selected candidates will be on probation for a period of 6 months.

Selection Process

Selection will be conducted through three distinct phases:

Phase 1: Online Objective Written Test (80 Marks)

• English Knowledge: 20 Marks
• Aptitude Test: 20 Marks
• Arithmetic Test: 20 Marks
• Psychometric Test: 20 Marks

Phase 2: Local Language Test (20 Marks)

• Assesses reading, writing, and speaking skills in the local language (Tamil).

Phase 3: Physical Fitness Test (100 Marks)

• Push-ups: 30 Marks
• Sit-ups: 30 Marks
• 1 Km Run: 30 Marks
• Drill Test: 10 Marks

Qualifying Criteria: Candidates must obtain at least 65 marks out of 100 in the Physical Fitness Test to qualify. A medical certificate from a qualified Civil Assistant Surgeon (issued within 15 days of the test) is mandatory on test day.
