Age Limit & Relaxation Criteria
- Minimum Age: 18 years for all categories as of 04.09.2026.
- Maximum Age (Technical Assistant, Technician B, Draughtsman B): 35 years
- Maximum Age (Fireman ‘A’): 25 years.
- Relaxations: 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates against reserved posts per Government of India rules. Ex-servicemen, PWBD, and departmental candidates are eligible for relaxations as applicable.
Application Fee Structure & Refund Terms
- Technical Assistant (Posts 813 & 814): Initial fee is ₹750. Full refund for fee-exempt categories (Female, SC, ST, PWBD, Ex-Servicemen) upon appearing for the written test. Other candidates receive a refund of ₹500 after deducting processing charges.
- Technician B, Draughtsman B & Fireman A (Posts 802, 815, 816, 817): Initial fee is ₹500. Full refund for fee-exempt categories upon attending the exam; ₹400 refund for all other candidates.
Selection Procedure
For Technical Assistant, Technician B, and Draughtsman B:
- Written Examination: 80 Multiple Choice Questions (90 minutes). 1 mark per correct answer, with a deduction of 0.33 marks for wrong answers.
- Skill Test: Conducted on a ‘Go/No-Go’ qualifying basis for shortlisted candidates. Skill test scores are not added to final merit calculation.
- Examination Venue: Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala).
For Fireman ‘A’:
- Preliminary Medical Examination (PME): Medical certificate mandatory with application.
- Written Test: 80 questions (120 minutes) covering chemistry, geometry, basic electricity, and general knowledge. Negative marking of 0.25 marks per incorrect answer.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Detailed Medical Examination (DME): Qualifying tests conducted in sequential stages.
