The Kerala Public Service Commission (Kerala PSC) has formally published official gazette notifications inviting applications from eligible Indian citizens for the post of Computer Assistant Grade II in various state government departments. The notifications cover both direct recruitment and internal transfers across departments including the Government Secretariat, Kerala Public Service Commission Headquarters, Advocate General’s Office, Local Fund Audit Department, and Kerala Lok Ayukta.

Detailed Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet all age limits and educational qualification criteria as specified in the official gazette before submitting their application.

1. Educational & Technical Qualifications

  • Basic Qualification: Must have passed SSLC or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Government of Kerala.
  • Technical Skill 1 (English Typewriting): KGTE Higher Grade Certificate in Typewriting English (or its equivalent) along with Computer Word Processing certificate.
  • Technical Skill 2 (Malayalam Typewriting): KGTE Lower Grade Certificate in Typewriting Malayalam (or its equivalent).

Note: Only Typewriting Certificates issued directly by the Government of Kerala are accepted. Certificates issued purely by private typewriting institutes are not considered valid proof of qualification.

2. Age Limit Requirements (For Direct Recruitment)

  • General Candidates: 18 – 36 years. Candidates must be born between 02.01.1990 and 01.01.2008 (both dates included).
  • Relaxation: Usual age relaxations apply for Other Backward Classes (OBC), Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Differently Abled candidates as per KS&SSR Part II general conditions. Upper age concessions shall not exceed 50 years under any circumstance.

Category Distinctions & Recruitment Types

Direct Recruitment (Category No. 084/2026)

Open to all candidates who meet the basic qualifications and age criteria. Candidates will be placed in a single ranked list, from which advise letters will be dispatched in order of vacancy reports across all participating government administrative branches.

By-Transfer Recruitment (Category No. 085/2026)

Exclusively open to low-paid government employees working in Secretariat departments, PSC office staff, or other specified subordinate services who meet the requisite educational and service criteria. Applicants must obtain and upload a valid Service Certificate signed by the head of their department.

Follow these official procedural steps to complete your registration:

  1. Visit the official Kerala PSC One Time Registration portal (Thulasi Portal).
  2. Log in to your profile using your User ID and Password. First-time users must complete the One Time Registration process before proceeding.
  3. Ensure your uploaded photograph was taken within the last 10 years and clearly displays your name and the date of the photo at the bottom.
  4. Navigate to the ‘Notification’ section and enter the relevant Category Number (084/2026 for Direct or 085/2026 for By-Transfer).
  5. Click the ‘Apply Now’ button alongside the respective notification link.
  6. Verify all pre-filled personal and educational data displayed from your profile.
  7. Submit the application and download/print a copy of the final application receipt for future reference.

Selection Process and Confirmation

If a written, OMR, or Online examination is organized as part of the selection process, candidates must log into their One Time Registration profile to submit an admission confirmation. Candidates who submit their confirmation within the specified window will be eligible to download their hall tickets during the 15 days preceding the date of the exam. Applications of candidates who fail to provide confirmation will be rejected.
